Somatic Yoga Therapy includes techniques like:

  • Dynamic Yoga Postures: Movements combined with intentional breath to release tension in key areas like the hips, shoulders, and spine.

  • Somatic Release Techniques: Intentional breathwork combined with kriya (pairing the breath with body movements and meditation to move imprints of unresolved issues stuck within your tissues).

  • Breathwork: Exercises like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), breath of fire or diaphragmatic breathing to regulate the heart rate and calm the mind.

  • Mindfulness: Moving the body with intention and learning to tune into the body’s sensations helps to facilitate greater awareness and healing within the body.

Weeks 1-4

Grounding & Stabilizing the Nervous System

The first four weeks of your journey focus on grounding and stabilizing your nervous system, laying the foundation for deep healing. Through targeted practices such as breathwork, yoga, and somatic techniques, you’ll learn to regulate your nervous system and reconnect with your body. These early weeks are about creating a sense of safety and presence, allowing you to build resilience from within. As you deepen your practice, you’ll notice a shift—greater calm, reduced stress, and an increasing ability to respond to life’s challenges with ease. This foundational phase sets you up for lasting transformation and peace.

Weeks 5-8

Taking Back Your Power

In weeks 5-8, we focus on reclaiming your personal power by activating and healing the solar plexus, or 3rd chakra. This phase is all about releasing the fear, shame, blame, guilt, and unprocessed trauma that are deeply held within the body's tissues, often keeping us stuck in survival mode. Through targeted yoga postures, breathwork, kriya, and meditation focused on the navel center, we’ll work to release these stuck emotions and break free from old patterns that no longer serve you. As your solar plexus is activated, you’ll feel more confident, empowered, and aligned with your authentic self, allowing you to step into life with a renewed sense of clarity, courage, and inner strength.

Weeks 9-12

Healing Your Heart

In weeks 9-12, we focus on healing and activating the heart chakra, inviting in heart-centered practices that promote emotional release and deep healing. This phase is dedicated to addressing old childhood wounds and past emotional traumas that may be stored within the walls of your heart. Through yoga postures, breathwork, and kriya specifically designed to open and heal the heart space, you’ll gently clear emotional blockages and invite love and compassion to flow more freely.

Heart chakra kriyas are powerful sequences of movements, breath, and sound designed to activate and heal the heart center. These practices work by stimulating the energetic pathways of the heart chakra, allowing old wounds to surface and be released. By engaging in heart-centered kriyas, you activate emotional release while promoting harmony and coherence within the body.

Creating heart coherence in the body is essential because it aligns the heart and mind, allowing for a profound sense of balance and peace. Energetically, heart coherence represents the synchronization of the body’s energy system, where the heart’s electromagnetic field connects harmoniously with the brain’s frequencies, creating a state of emotional resilience and inner peace. As taught in Kia Miller’s Radiant Body Yoga, this practice helps to open the heart, fostering a sense of self-love, compassion, and connection with others, while promoting emotional stability and alignment.

Weeks 13-16

Now that we’ve done the deep healing, it’s time to explore the next chapter: how do you live and sustain a heart-centered life, grounded in compassion, empathy, and gratitude? In weeks 13-16, we focus on stabilizing the energy at the heart to create a clear sense of direction and purpose moving forward. This phase is about developing a deep knowing of what’s next for you—who you are, beyond the ungrounded thoughts of anxiety and fear.

Through continued yoga practices, meditation, and heart-centered rituals, you’ll deepen your connection with yourself, building a life aligned with your highest truth. As you stabilize the energy in your heart, you’ll begin to see more clearly, gaining a new perspective on who you truly are. This phase invites you to explore yourself with curiosity, discovering your authentic self through the lens of a radiant heart. With a renewed sense of clarity, you’ll move forward with confidence, living from a place of heart coherence, emotional intelligence, and lasting peace. It’s time to live consciously, with purpose and joy, rooted in your heart’s deepest wisdom.
