Why I am Pro-Yoga

My path to yoga began in 2013, when I went on a yoga retreat in Costa Rica. It was there, surrounded by the lush beauty of the jungle, that I discovered something I had never known before—peace. For the first time in my life, I felt truly grounded, truly connected to myself in a way that was transformative. But the journey didn’t stop there. After that retreat, life threw me a few curveballs, as it does, and I found myself questioning everything. I was married at the time, but the relationship wasn’t aligned with my heart. I wasn’t creating the life I wanted—I was simply going through the motions, living in a haze of expectations and fears.

That realization kicked off a whirlwind of change. I ended my marriage, quit my full-time job as a social worker, and opened my own Reiki practice while teaching yoga. I was finally creating—not just the image I wanted to present to the world, but the life I wanted to live. Yoga became my anchor, the practice that brought me back to myself when everything else felt out of control.

Yoga has always been the thread that led me back to myself, and it continues to be my guiding light. It’s been the one constant that’s helped me navigate the chaos of life and find my center again and again. Now, I’m passionate about helping others discover that same peace and power within themselves through yoga and healing.

What I see in the world often feels heavy—heartache, suffering, dis-ease, and disease. People are struggling, trying so hard to get better, but often finding themselves pulled back into old patterns. There's a sense of helplessness, of fighting battles against things like drug addiction and alcohol use—ways we sometimes try to numb ourselves or escape the deep-seated pain we can’t seem to shake. Isolation and loneliness seem to seep into the cracks of so many lives, and the desire for connection, for something more than what we see in front of us, grows stronger every day. We all want more—more peace, more purpose, more joy, more life—and yet, so many feel stuck, disconnected, unsure of how to take the next step toward what they truly desire. So often, it feels like we are at war with ourselves.

I’ve felt that pull, that heaviness, too. But I also know there’s a way out, a way through. There’s a path that leads from suffering to healing. It’s the path I’ve walked, and it’s one I believe everyone has access to, no matter where they are in their journey. Yoga has been the thread that pulled me from that disconnection, that overwhelming sense of being lost, into the light of who I truly am. It’s been the bridge from the heaviness of life to the joy and freedom that are available to all of us.

So if you’re feeling stuck, unsure, or like you’re struggling with the weight of the world on your shoulders—know this: there is a way through. I’m living proof of it. I’m here to show you how. It’s time to step into your own power and start living from your heart—because when you do, magic happens.

And if you’re ready to take that step, trust me when I say: you’re not alone. Let’s walk this path together. You deserve to feel alive, to feel free, and to create the life you’ve always dreamed of. Let’s make it happen—starting today.
